Scarborough Art Society

To Foster the Study and Practice of Art in Scarborough and District

Scarborough Art Society is a well-established organisation, it’s aim being “to foster the study and practice of art in Scarborough”. There is a full calendar of demonstrations and workshops, and two picture sales a year where members can sell their work to the public.

Demonstrations
On the first Wednesday of every month we hold a demonstration by an established practising artist. To watch a professional build-up a painting from scratch in front of you is a privilege rarely available, and one which can be both interesting and highly instructive. There is also the opportunity to talk to the artist and ask any questions you may have. It is possible to visit as a guest.

Exhibitions
SAS organises two picture sales every year and Membership of SAS entitles you to exhibit and sell your paintings to the public.
